A numbers game

Written by Jonas Pro Cycling at 18:08 25/11-2018

  4

Is the amount of days we held on to the topspot, after reclaiming it on day 88. Just enough to secure the seasonwin.

Around early midseason we were grinding out 7000+ points, and had four man within top20 with 1000+ points each. Silveira, Helio, Miron and Drew.

This was looking to be our best season ever.

But then a cascade of offdays and injuries struck us. Worst was the loss of Silveira, Helio and Miron. Those and a total of 12 injuries gave a certain toll to our teamspirit.

At the end of the season we had given up hope to rewin the ranks. Being behind on points and with less races left than both Pekac B and Nefal, things looked like they shouldn't go our way. But as unlycky our midseason was, as lucky an endseason we had.

Drew won his two races and Helio his as well. Mats Bjelland finally secured a top 9 in his third try and veteran Silveira stepped up, in his first race since his injury, and got a second in the seasonfinale. Enough to just barely secure the seasonwin, with the closest margin ever.

As a pleasent and unexpected encore, we managed to take the entire podium for the first time in racehistory, at the Gothenburg ITT WC.

138 is the amount of points between first and third last season.

I blame it on the Boogie! ;)

PEKAC B at 11:21 29/11-2018
Worst on that is that I can only blame myself that it happened ;-)

Jonas Pro Cycling at 19:26 27/11-2018
Totally sucks those accidently topformtriggers. I did it twice last season. ;)

PEKAC B at 21:04 26/11-2018
Yes, I probably never had so many points so early in the season ;-)

But I also accidentally triggered Derzhavins TF when it is totally useless... Which is about 200 points down comparing to the plan.

I even knew he is in risk but totally forget to take him out of RB.

Jonas Pro Cycling at 17:57 26/11-2018
Thanks :) Hopefully it will be close. You already got a decent gap though Pekac :)

Team Chili at 08:15 26/11-2018
The TT WC was really entertaining :)

Can't wait to see the big guys Duke it out again this season.

PEKAC B at 21:45 25/11-2018
Congratz to the season win and ITT WC!

The end of season was really entertaining, I did not expect to be so close.
